Haircut and Hands.

Haircut.

My hair was getting long. Here is me eating pizza we made on the BBQ last weekend I think. It was really good pizza.

On Saturday mom cut my hair. I liked it a lot more than at home because I am outside on the dock when she cuts it here and I don't get cold sitting on a cold chair in the shower. Well actually I DID get cold when mom wet my hair (when the hose water turned cold).

I hadn't had a haircut since we were at the house and we've been here for 7 weeks...it it was probably about 2 months? I like getting my hair cut here as well because I could see the fishies under my toes at the dock.

Speaking of fishies, today I saw a jellyfish. It was really cool! I wish mom could see it. I was white and see-through and it was just above the surface. It was about the size of someone's head. It was very fast and mom couldn't see it by the time she got down the dock. But my little sister saw it.

Back to the haircut. It didn't take too long. You know time flies when you are having fun so...and I was having fun. The warm sun, the cold water, time alone with mommy. She didn't cut me and I trust her (and we've already been through that). I really liked how it finished. I think mom did a better job than back at home.

Mom Note: It is SO hard getting the right height when cutting the kids (and Greg’s hair) on the dock! Above I’m sitting on an upside-down garbage pail and later I made Aden sit on it while I knelt around her…the cutting is pretty easy now (though I do need to take a few moments to refresh my memory on the steps before I start each time I do a short cut since I only do it every few months). The positioning around the subject is by far the hardest part…especially on a dock. I was very grateful we both managed to stay out of the water :P

Hands.

Today I got a little injury. Yes, an actual injury. Well I don't really know pacifically (specifically) how it happened but what I do know is that I almost broke my fingers. It looks like I broke my fingers. I can't do much. I can't write. I can't draw. I can't make my bed. I don't think I'm going to be able to brush my teeth and I wasn't very good at eating. On my one hand you can see that I have what looks like a little bit of a cast. Mom put a splint under my fingers and wrapped it up. It hurts in between the knuckles of my middle finger and the finger beside my middle finger. When I got hurt I felt really bad, it was really painful and I hated it. I got really cold and I got really tired really quickly. I felt like I was going to throw-up. I had a little cup of tea and when the laundry was done we went back to the boat. I feel a little better now but it still really hurts.

This hand hurts a little less. You can see the bruise on my middle finger and that it is swollen.

The other hand has tape on it because my middle finger is all swollen and bruised. We taped two fingers together on that hand as well.

The story of how it happened has to do with Liam and me. It all happened fast. Either Liam's shoe hit my knuckles. Or he punched my knuckles or my fingers. I don't really know. We were trying to make each other laugh and for some reason Liam just did that. The injury was a bit of an accident. I forgive Liam. I threw up my hand because I was protecting myself. But I'm sure I'll be ok...for now.

This is my other hand with the splint and the wrap. It hurst a lot.

Mom and Dad were worried we would have to go back to Milton to go to the hospital if it was broken because it would cost a lot of money if we went to the hospital here and we'd have to stay for 3 weeks and miss the Labour Day party here next weekend because mommy has to work in a few weeks and we wouldn't go back and forth two times Mom and Dad said. But we don't think they are broken.

I need a little help getting on the boat because I can't used my hands to lift myself up. I have to be careful not to use my hands going up and down the stairs. It's hard. I do mostly everything with my hands...I need Grace to put away my clothes and just kept going and coming, going and coming and she put the clothes in the packing square and I was like "it looks so easy and I just can't do it!".

This was me before my injury. Won’t be doing this for a while. It’s a game Grace and I play where we go back and forth through the boat without touching the floor.

And that's all I have to tell you. See you later!
